Maxine
Master Barber / Stylist / Owner
A professional master barber/stylist for over 20 years, Maxine Josie specializes in precision cutting using hair as her canvas, bringing a distinctive aesthetic and fresh approach to bring out each client’s unique beauty. Maxine thinks that great hair is the key to feeling beautiful. Truly passionate about her chosen career, Maxine is always on top of the trends. It’s her personal goal to continue to grow and excel in her craft and to ultimately share all that she learns. For over four years Maxine traveled extensively, working as an educator for Prive Products training many salons throughout the U.S. “I love hair and feel incredibly blessed that I’ve found a career that resonates with me so perfectly. As a stylist I believe in honesty, patience, creativity and hard work all functioning together to produce a beautiful end result for my clients.”
Kat
Stylist / Colorist
Kat Bishop has worked in many beauty facets from Haircutting, Session Styling, Esthetics, and Make Up Artistry. Her education and training began with Aveda Institute as an Esthetician in New York City in 2000. She continued skincare for 4 years and then became a proud alumnus of the Paul Mitchell Partner Schools for Cosmetology. She was awarded with The Salon Association (TSA) Beacon Award - Top 100 Nationally Recognized Students (California 2004). With over 17 years of combined experiences, it has led her to work with Cheryl Tiegs, Supermodel Emmie, Olympian Medalist LoLo Jones, Mariel Hemingway, ANTM Brittany Hatch (Cycle 8), Jake Ryan (NFL Green Bay Packers), and events like Rock N Roll Hall of Fame Induction. Kat is also a long-time participant styling hair & applying make-up backstage for runways at New York Fashion Week and has participated in Mercedes-Benz Miami Swim Fashion Week and Berlin Fashion Week. In addition, she is also is represented and shares her passion as a CLEShear Ambassador. She also assists in training as an in-Salon Coach at MJ Hair Studio. Kat is not only behind the chair, she is always on the go. She finds her inspiration in the cities she travels, continued education, and working alongside other passionate hairstylists. She believes, "Just like fashion, hair trends shift and become more innovative. You have to continue to learn, develop, and share that with your fellow hairstylists and deliver it to your clients."
Jennifer
Stylist / Colorist
Jennifer has been in this profession for 17 years. Jennifer is passionate in color formulation and application. She prides herself on keeping the integrity of her client’s hair. Jennifer is a great listener and communicator allowing her to provide natural, beautiful work. Her number one goal is to provide a great color and cut to prolong the look of her service until your next appointment.
Molly
Stylist / Colorist
Molly is an experienced stylist who works with you to create a look that works for each individual’s personality and lifestyle. She encourages open communication to ensure the look desired, is achieved. Molly places great importance on the overall health of the hair. She will guide on how to care for the style and color between visits, so you can look your best every day.
Bailey
Advanced Esthetician
Bailey graduated from Brown Aveda in 2016 and has been an Advanced Esthetician for 6 years. She specializes in body waxing, hydra facials, custom facials, dermaplaning, chemical peels, lash lift and brow tints.
Neri
Salon Manager
Neri is our Salon Manager. She’s always there to greet you when you come in. She has a genuine happy and warm disposition and she will always make you feel at home the moment you walk through the doors. She’s not only knowledgeable about our hair services and products but she is exceptional at guiding our guests through their scheduling process so they receive exactly what they need for an exceptional experience at MJ Hair Studio. Neri is committed to taking excellent care of our guests and staff.
